SF Squared opens new personal training studio in Valencia Corridor

At a time when San Francisco faces unprecedented local storefront closures, SF Squared, Inc. is proud to be opening doors to the city’s first Black, LGBTQ+ owned personal training gyms, SF Squared Training Garage, at 1441-A Stevenson Street in San Francisco’s Valencia Corridor. The new hybrid personal training studio and garage location for SF Squared’s Mobile Gym Unit, began welcoming fitness clients on May 15, 2024, and will have a Grand Opening Celebration to be held this fall on September 12, 2024.

SF Squared, Inc. has paved their proving ground, building fitness lifestyles for more than 300 clients across the Bay Area for nearly a decade, via their mobile-gym personal training services and infamous boot camp. Now, owner Race Cooper, is proud to plant roots in the city he loves, “San Francisco is still a beacon for individuals seeking to live their truth and their best lives. As a black-queer person, it’s important for me to create a space that is welcoming, inclusive and respectful of all peoples’ identities, abilities and fitness goals.”

“Success looks like our clients having the tools and knowledge to maintain effective fitness practices on their own, wherever they find themselves.”

Housed in the new Stevenson Plaza, the Training Garage features two personal training areas with state of the art Warrior Strength-Power Rack, Hydrow Rower, Peloton Bike, gender neutral changing room, ADA-accessible restroom facilities, free wifi and a comfy welcome lounge offering complimentary espresso coffee, tea, and healthy snacks. Adorned with bespoke neon signs and mural artwork by graffiti artist Roberto Gonzalez, The Training Garage also housed the SF Squared Mobile Gym van, under 14-foot ceilings, when it is not on location.
Focused as much on fitness education as on personal training instruction, SF Squared seeks to empower clients to be the leaders of their own fitness journey. “Success looks like our clients having the tools and knowledge to maintain effective fitness practices on their own, wherever they find themselves.”, says Cooper.
